Hi all

I hope to add more UMdC material to GitHub this week. If you have any final comments on the draft overview of a proposed UMdC coding system https://hieroglyphseverywhere.github.io/umdc.github.io/UMdCOverview.pdf I pointed out on August 29th please let me know otherwise I’ll take it people are happy to proceed on that basis.

I’ll be posting on my blog https://hieroglyphseverywhere.blogspot.co.uk/ as this gets done but meanwhile some points of interest:

  * Drafts sources of some sample UMdC files are available at https://github.com/HieroglyphsEverywhere/UMdC/tree/master/Samples. Particular thanks to Serge Rosmorduc whose JSesh samples form the basis of many useful illustrations.
  * The Papyrus Westcar sample is rendered using a web font (Aaron UMdC Alpha) on https://hieroglyphseverywhere.github.io/umdc.github.io/UMdCExamples/PapyrusWestcar.html .
  * The current version of the in-progress UMdC-compatible Aaron UMdC Alpha font for PC desktop use is downloadable from https://github.com/HieroglyphsEverywhere/Fonts/tree/master/Experimental - read the license information, click on the ttf file, click download then install. This font contains the Unicode-in-pipeline hieroglyph formatting controls and transliteration characters. I expect I’ll be updating the font and adding at least one more font next month so suggestions welcome.

Bob Richmond
